I was lucky enough to have Jessica as my ashtanga instructor for a number of years. Jessica is incredibly genuine and provides the perfect balance of patience and encouragement. She has the unique ability to help each student feel comfortable in her class, whether you are a beginner or have been practicing for years. Her depth of knowledge regarding ashtanga only adds to one’s practice.
Jessica’s gentle manner and calm insight and guidance helped me to explore some possible patterns that had been holding me back.
Jessica is an excellent teacher for students of all levels. She lives and teaches with an open heart; with sincerity, and compassion always.
My first introduction to Ashtanga was nearly a decade ago when I participated in a class Jessica was teaching in our area. Her professional yet warm and encouraging presence made me want to learn more from her about this particular kind of yoga practice. Although I have had the opportunity to learn from other Ashtanga instructors I seek out classes where Jessica is teaching. She has a consistency in her leadership yet a sense in knowing and setting the tone of each specific class. The personal g… Read more
I met Jessica at a meditation group while I was traveling in India. She told me about her past life healing sessions and I thought it sounded really strange, and perhaps a little too new age-y for me. I really liked Jessica’s friendly smile, good nature, and helpful personality so I decided to give it a shot. Jessica asked me some questions about myself and patiently explained how everything would work. She made sure I was comfortable, physically and emotionally, with the work we were about t… Read more
I’ve had the privilege of being Jessica’s yoga student for over ten years. My life and practice has had its ups and downs over the years, but I always know that I can return to ashtanga with Jessica and be “home.” She is inspiring, uplifting and incredibly insightful through her teaching. I always feel like I can relax into being “right where I am” with her. Being in a class with Jessica is a true gift.
My first real yoga class was with Jessica as my instructor. I was not familiar with Ashtanga or any other style of yoga for that matter. She seemed so sure and confident, yet humble and happy to share her experience in Ashtanga with anyone who was willing to learn. It was like she held a secret and wanted to tell someone. I had to know more. I wanted to see just a glimpse of what she knew. I took classes from Jessica for a few years, realizing that I didn’t care to take any other type of yoga … Read more
My interest in yoga began about ten years ago after a herniated disc that left me with peripheral neuropathy and sciatica pain. The answer to the pain and inflexibility was Jessica Sharry’s class of Ashtanga Yoga. I truly maintain that this class and Jessica’s approach to healing and her gentle guidance to managing the poses made a huge difference in my life. I am forever grateful to her for the past eight years of classes in Empire, Michigan. Thank you Jessica – you gave me so much.… Read more
